Crowbar Ski Mountaineering Race

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED FOR THE 2011 CROWBAR.

Race:  CROWBAR winter backcountry race

Equipment:  AT/rando, telemark, or split board

Date:  Feb 19, 2011

Location:  Logan Canyon, Bunchgrass Trailhead

Time:  Pre-race meeting at 8:30 am, race starts at 9:00 am

Registration:  $40

Avalanche safety equipment is mandatory (beacon, shovel, probe)

Helmets are recommended, but not required.

This race takes place entirely in the backcountry.  I will mark the course and set at least one track prior to the race, with passing lanes in some areas.  Skin track condition will of course be weather dependent.

Racers will finish in 2-5 hrs.  Distance is 4-6 miles and vertical is 3,500 to 5,000 depending if you choose the Recreation or Race division.

This is subject to change if pending weather and avalanche conditions.

If you joined us last year, hope you had fun!  Expect a similar course, with some minor varations.  This may include shortening the Recreation division and lengthening the Race division.  A booter may be included.

Check the blog often for updates.  Once the course is finalized I will post maps on the blog.

Thanks to Nordic United who make this event possible!
